Enjoying Sun, Summer, The Universe And Everything

Hello there, my fellow Internetians!

How are you doing? It’s Thursday and all and we’re this close to the weekend. Yes box baby! How are you going to spend your weekend? With good food, smiles, and some decadence, I hope.

We cleaned out the lockers at uni today (where we kept all books we didn’t want to carry home from uni each and every day). That was kind of sad. Five years of my life have been spent there after all. And now we’ve all gotten a master’s degree and it is really over. Time for something different!

What this “different” is? Well, I don’t exactly know it yet. I’m thinking that it’ll turn out great eventually and that I, until then, only have to enjoy life, summer, the universe and everything (who got the reference?).

I’ve begun by hugging this bad boy:

This summer I’m planning the following:

• reading
• writing
• photographing

Yeah, that’s about it. And the simple task of finding out what I want from life etcetera. No big deal.

This Sunday the Book Review Sunday is finally back! I’m so excited!! We’re back on track blog, we’re back on track. 🚞

 

Playing With Labrador In a Lake

Are there any things that could possibly be better than playing with a dog in a lake? That would be a limited number of things if you ask me, especially if that dog you’re playing with is a very cute labrador. Look how fun we had with my girlfriend’s family dog doing just that:

When we were driving home the entire car smelled of wet dog. Kind of charming in a way actually. He was so happy, I was so happy, everybody was happy, happy, happy, happy!

And, I almost forgot, happy Saturday everybody!

Midsummer

As you may or may not know, in Sweden we celebrate midsummer every year in honor of… That we’re in the middle of summer I assume (I don’t know why I don’t know it better than that or why I can’t find the energy to google it). The great thing about midsummer – except it being marked as a holiday in the calendar – is that it is an excuse for everyone to come together, eat and drink tasty things, play silly games and hang out. So that’s what we did last Friday.

We ate and drank tasty things.

We played games – although not silly for me. The game kubb always manages to light up my spirit of competition and that may be one of the reasons why I shouted “all who wants to win, join  my team!” when we split into two teams. I can’t help it.

We cuddled this cutie 🐶.

And we had this for dessert. Allow me to drool.

A Hamster Update

Hi Internet!

I feel like we need a new hamster update on this blog – it’s been too long. Since it’s summer even hamsters deserve more summer like fruits, such as: Watermelon. 🍉

Aaaah! The sweet taste of watermelon! Hamsters and humans alike are (or should be) big fans of its greatness.

Except being extremely cute with his paw sticking out in the back there are few things as lovable as having this tiny animal in my hand while he’s eating. I bet there are a number of people reading this now knowing exactly what I mean by that. Tiny animals are awesome and you know… Awesome again.

Also, this is how we sit and watch tv. He snacks, I snack, my girlfriend snacks and the tv is rolling in the background. Family time!

The Prince wishes you all a great Tuesday and says that you all deserve some watermelon to brighten your day (and your tastebuds). 👋

The Swedish Countryside, Visiting My Grandmother

Hi Internet!

We (me and my girlfriend) surprised my grandmother today with a visit. She basically lives in the middle of nowhere, where no sounds besides the wind, birds and occasional bugs can be heard.

To get out to the countryside like this is one of the best things I know – I love, love, love the soothing temperament of nature out there.

The family dog (who by the way also loves the countryside and my grandmother) playing with my girlfriend, or is it the other way around? Hard to tell.

No visit to a grandmother without “fika”, of course! She had made blueberry pie with vanilla sauce 😍

We talked and then we talked and then we talked some more. Drinking coffee and tea, eating amazing food and then talking some more. Can you even tell how wonderful this day has been by the pictures?? Even the weather was on our side today, this will be a sunny summer! (I hope I didn’t jinx anything by saying that – I’m sorry Sweden!).

Hello Monday | Three Things That Brighten My Day

Hi Internet!

In its simplicity I would like to list three things that make me happy with… Well, life.

1. It’s not until recently (today to be exact) that I’ve found this wonderful recipe for banana and strawberry nice cream. AMAZING! I don’t know if I’ve been living under a rock for the last twenty-four years or what for not finding this until now but… Better late than never.

Frozen bananas, frozen strawberries, a splash of oat milk and BZZZZZZZZRRR (<– that would be the blender). Sooooo good!

2. Finally the lactose free sandwich ice cream has come to Sweden! I say “come to Sweden” although I’m honestly not sure if other countries have this type of ice cream. But you do right? If not: come to Sweden.

3. This lovely little fellow ❤️ Not yet properly introduced on the blog I believe. Well, here he is: The family dog. It’s so sad (but also pretty cute) that he is becoming grey around his eyes.

Awwww, look at him! How cute! My second younger brother.

Three things which all make me happy and full. Obviously not the dog though, just putting it out there in case someone would think I’m in for a doggy sandwich or stew. “Hm… You look just about the right size now… DINNER’S SERVED!” I’ve such a morbid humor. Sorry about that.

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you’re doing great today.

I’ve been cuddling with our little prince for the bigger part of the day – and, you know, given him candy pretending it was Saturday and not Sunday.

This Sunday has also been the Swedish (and maybe other countries’ as well, of course) mother’s day. Therefore we visited my mum earlier today and me and my brother had been buying flowers for her. As it should be, cherishing the mothers, they deserve it!

While spoiling our son (who by the way didn’t give anything for his two mothers? What’s up with that?), his tiny tiny tiny little paw got on the side of my hand. How cute??? He wishes you all a good Sunday too.
